Has anyone experimented with turning the P2MAX fan completely off by disconnecting the cable (like the very useful button on the Pocket 2)? The CPU and GPU are okay, they will throttle down, but what about the VRMs? I guess they have built-in overheating protection, but if somebody has tested this for some time - now that will be extra reassuring. I also tend to run with CPU freq capped, which translates to low TDP.
The fan sound is quite terrible and mine does not turn off, even with fully idle machine. Ideally I’d like it to be activated only seldom on a per-need basis.
