I’ve received my GPD MicroPC and within less than 24 hours, the touchpad is now bricked.
Just an FYI, I have seen another report on reddit as well, using the touchpad firmware from the official website on the refreshed GPD MicroPC model with the n4120 will completely brick your touchpad.
I’ve tried using the AMR touchpad link to restore the firmware, but I keep getting an error:
ENTER PROGRAMMODE FAIL
I’m fairly certain this means that the firmware tool can’t even make communication with the hardware anymore and can’t flash it.
Any help would be appreciated, I’d hate to have to spend a fortune returning it. I’d rather buy the touchpad part and install it myself
Bought it used and after clean install the windows, got tempted with the “udpated” touchpad driver.
I really hope that you give some clear warning in the download page to avoid this thing happening again. Greatly apreciate any solutions, because it’s costly and also a hasle to send a computer overseas from and to my country.
Nope, unfortunately I had to send it back and ended up getting a refund. It’s a hard brick for the touchpad. It’s extremely disappointing to have an outdated firmware that doesn’t work on the latest batch of this model. How hard is it to update your driver website lol
Honestly I’ve owned the original GPD Win and wanted to replace it with the MicroPC, now I never want to see another GPD product again.
Oh, well. At least now I know there is no way of saving this MicroPC (that’s been partly killed by its own website) . Thank you for your respond, Tyrkane!
